fishlover
Are there any updates or next steps on Pembina River closure from AEP planned in the first half of 2019?
kemo99
As far as I know, the 5 year recovery rest period that started in 2016 will remain in play. Headwaters downstream to Sec. Rd. 753 near Lodge Pole, includes Dismal and Rat creeks and tributaries CLOSED ALL YEAR
fishlover
I was wondering if they were going to have an update on the plans to address habitat fragmentation and water quality for 2019/2020. On their web site they had fish population assessment, water temperature assessment and fisheries management public survey as the next steps for 2017/2018. PeterSL
Action on all east slopes stream management plans is basically on hold pending release of the final report from the Third Party Science Review team mandated by the Minister and led by Dr. Stephen Cooke and his team at Carleton University. That review was an outcome of public surveys and other input from stakeholders in 2017-18. Hopefully it will be released soon. However there is a significant amount of work being undertaken by AEP, Transportation and industry on stream crossings and culverts.
