Eastern Slopes Fisheries Regulations (Es1)

Just in from Environment and Parks :

The eastern slopes have long been a popular fishing destination and conservation is critical for the sustainability of the fish populations. Conservation concerns in this area include low populations of Westslope Cutthroat Trout and Bull Trout; Westslope Cutthroat Trout are now found in only five per cent of their historical range. Alberta Environment and Parks’ vision is that Westslope Cutthroat Trout and Bull Trout populations are recovered so that populations are self-sustaining in Alberta throughout their historical range. To ensure species recovery and the sustainability of the fishery, a number or management changes to flowing waters within East Slopes Zone 1 (ES1) are proposed.

Your feedback can help shape the management changes being considered. Have your say by completing the survey by February 2, 2018 at 4:00 pm.
