The Club's New Executive For 2017

Recommended Posts

Michael Dell with assistance from Barry White did a superb job of recruiting a full slate of nominees for this year's executive. After many years in which a number of positions were not filled the following were elected by acclamation at the AGM on January 18th:

President: Karen Harris

VP: Alex Molenkamp

Treasurer & Newsletter: Peter Little

Secretary: Emmerson Dober

Membership: Kristi Kinoshita

Programs: Robert Depradines

External Events: Michael Dell

Librarian: Terry Dyck

As Michael mentioned, the club owes a debt of gratitude to Dennis Southwick who served as president for so many years. He deserves a break after organizing and chairing so many meetings and events but we hope he'll continue to offer his advice and experience to the new executive as it plans future club activities.

The executive hopes too that you will let us know what speakers, activities and events you would like to see on the club's agenda and how we can best achieve the aims and objectives of the club to:

· provide a friendly atmosphere for the novice and expert to learn and share the fly tying and fly fishing experience

· support the work of TU Canada in promoting the conservation and wise use of trout and other coldwater fisheries and their watersheds and in fostering public awareness of the value of these natural resources

· promote the involvement of others in fly tying and fishing with particular emphasis on youth

· maintain a “Club” library of fishing videos and books for the use of its members

· acquire and maintain a set of complete fly tying kits and a ready supply of common materials for use by potential and existing members

· interact with other fishing clubs and related entities to increase membership support for the aims and objectives of Northern Lights Fly Fishers/TUC Edmonton
