Michael Dell
CORRECTION: I WILL BE DOING THIS FOR THE MEETING ON FEBRUARY 17. For the meeting on February 10 I will be tying a CDC BWO, and talking about CDC and Blue-winged Olive mayflies. I first saw this pattern in Vic Bergman's video "Trout: tying and fishing effective trout flies." Subsequently I have seen it credited online to Jim McLennan. CDC BWO Hook: Dry fly hook size 18-22Thread: 8/0 oliveWings: two CDC feathers, dividedTail: blue dun or light coloured hackle fibresBody: dubbed olive CDC This fly works well on slow flat currents where trout have some time to look at the fly before taking it. I will also show the patterns I use for riffled or rough water. My apologies for the poor quality of the picture.
