Chadillac
Hello folks, Please find below a link to a survey regarding Athabasca Rainbow Trout. The survey is from the Feds, probing whether or not the Athabasca Rainbow Trout should be listed as a Species At Risk under SARA. https://www.registrelep-sararegistry.gc.ca/default.asp?lang=En&n=0768A55C-1 The survey will be in place until February 9, 2016. Apologies if this has already been posted, or if I posted it in the wrong section.
PeterSL
Thanks for this notice, Chadillac! Not sure how to respond on the survey. If the Athabasca Rainbow is classified as 'Endangered' then it says in the link that DFO will "develop an Action Plan". Would be interested to know what anyone thinks this might involve - all I can think of offhand is stream closures. Peter
PeterSL
Tomorrow (9th Feb) is the last day to respond to the survey. Please check it out if you haven't already.Following is a link to some background info and a letter sent from TU Canada re adding Athabasca Rainbows to the Endangered list.http://www.tucanada.org/index.asp?p=2055&vn=
fthillsfisher
Sent a letter to the DFO on jan. 29/16 expressing my interest at being involved with the consultation for this. Never got an answer back. Do they normally ignore the people that have angled for the Athabasca rainbow for forty plus years ?
