Mongoose
Hi everyone. I am a new member to Northern Lights Fly Tyers. I have attended the seminar at Grant McEwan with Phil Rowley and Ed Engles and came out last Wednesday for the Tenkera fly rod discussions. Fly fishing and tying flies are my favourite hobbies. I also have been quite involved in photography for a number of years. I have really enjoyed the fishing and tying discussions with this club and would like to get involved with the occasional event. I am not available every Wednesday evening as I have to work afternoon shift sometimes. I look forward to being a part of this club and meeting everyone. dave robinson
Hey, a new Dave to replace the departing one! New Dave, you will find this a great place to learn about fly fishing and make some new friends. I really miss my good buddies at NLFT. That said, I met some new ones at the fly tiying night with the Haig Brown Anglers here in Victoria Tuesday night. They are a very friendly and welcoming bunch. And as is usual with orgaizations driven by volunteer members, they are always looking for fresh blood to help out. Dennis would have had a ball, as we tied small wet fly patterns like the partridge and green and peacock and starling. I had a similar experience in New Zealand in 2000-01. Just goes to show that fly fishers are great people no matter where you find them. All is takes to fit in is a willingness to share ideas and experiences and offer to help out a bit.
