kemo99
We had a great day fishing on Rat Creek on Sunday. Weather and stream conditions were near perfect. We had 2 crews out on different stretches of Rat Creek. A total of 39 fish were caught, and 5 were PIT tagged. Most fish were between 20-25 cm. Jim provided this commentary:You fellows provided some very useful information on the seasonal distribution of grayling in this section. Hopefully we will recapture the PIT tagged fish in future trips. Based on the size of your catch I think that the majority of the fish you caught were two years old (spawned in 2012). A few of the smaller ones could have been one year-olds, spawned last spring. It was interesting that you did not encounter any adult fish, which is consistent for many of the trips to this site. I suspect that the adults are still hanging out in the spawning areas, or close to them. We are still trying to figure out the Rat Creek population, so your data is helpful. Thanks to Randy, Terry, Martin, Seb and Craig.

kemo99
Your spot is near the confluence of Rat Creek/Pembina. I'm not aware that anyone has fished that area as part of the project yet.
