Chadillac
Hello,New member checking in. Hoping to make a meeting every now and again, though I live a couple hours away, so... May be tough most of the time. I consider myself new to fly fishing. Been doing it for 11ish years. However, hours have always been low due to other life commitments. I fish because I enjoy it. Whether I am catching or only the people I am with are catching, it always makes for good stories. "Remember that time you got skunked..." "Which time?" "Ha ha, funny guy..." "I'm going home..." I fly fish because when I am fly fishing, everything else is in the background. Nothing else is on my mind other than the fish that I know is lurking below. I don't think of what I have to do when I get back to work, or the honey-do list, or how my boy is going to hurt himself next. It's relaxing and humbling all at once. And I can't wait to get out again. I may only get out a few times a year, but I always look forward to it. I have primarily fished for Arctic Grayling in my short time with the fly, though last year, I caught my first Bull on on the fly and it was awesome (Picture attached). It is one of those stories I will never forget and I know will come up on future trips. I am a rookie tyer. I am proud to say, the above Bull was caught on a fly I tied, which made it that much more exciting. Infact, everything I caught on that particular trip was caught on my own flies. I am terrible at it, and I get mad everytime I do it (stupid thread), but I do enjoy it. And when my daughter helps, it gets really fun. Looking forward to learning a whole lot to be a more successful fly angler, because there is a whole lot I just don't know about it. Cheers,Chad

flyfish
Welcome Chad,Catching fish is only part of the experience, its a great past time away from that day timer, and scheduled meetings. My best days are fishless days with great company. The club has a lot to offer, welcome. Cheers Roy..
