Just recieved an update from Jim and Ken. It would be better if waited 2- 3 weeks for the water to settle down. So is any one interested in meeting at Fairfax this weekend for some lake fishing? There are the Luscar pits (Bows and Browns), Muskiki( Cutties ).

Fairfax camping was $10.00 with fire wood last year

Jim was at Dismal creek this weekend. His input: On Saturday Dismal Creek was wadeable (but tough wading) and it was slightly off colour (became clearer as moved upstream). While it is fishable, I wouldn't expect good catches. Anglers would definitely have to rely on weighted nymphs and indicators. Based on the gauge on the Pembina River at Paddy Creek the flows are still hovering around 50 cms, with little or no indication of a downward trend. The weather for the Monday to Friday period is for showers/thunderstorms for Drayton Valley and Edson so I'm not expecting the flows to decline, or the streams to clear up in a major way before Saturday.

Bottom line, the conditions are not going to be too good. We will not have a group organized to do PIT tagging. There is interest in camping at an alternate location (Fairfax Lake), but the organized grayling fishing is off for this weekend.

We will post updates as the weather becomes more favorable.

Please post here if you would like to camp at Fairfax lake this weekend instead.

Will need to speak to Brenda to see what she would like to do.

Of course the Whitecourt area looks good to me but then your running into the same problem stream would be high. Damed if you do Damed if you don't.

Ok. My boy and I will be joining Yuse all at Fairfax.

When you all get there can someone pick a site with enough room for me to pitch a largish size tent or please pick a good tent site for me to put tarps up. If you pay for me for Friday I will return it when I get there. We will be there sometime after supper.

Speaking of supper shall I still bring the taco salad for Saturday supper...?

Thx

Good luck guys you just might have picked the right spot by the forcast. Rain Rain very where. Not many rivers in the province that's not bent out of shape.

I do have my eye on a couple, one of them will be a last minute decession.

I want to hear some good fishis stories & pictures.
