  • Lake is usually still frozen or a mix of ice and some open water
  • Winter camping
  • Bi-modal - back-country skies or snowshoes pulling boats OR boats carrying skies or snowshoes
  • Open river mouths concentrate trout, fishing shoud be so good it might get boring
  • Rivers themselves are still closed to fishing
  • 4 nights (maximum stay)
  • approx 8 -10 miles per day travel
  • if conditions are iffy, may need to wear wetsuits (sweaty proposition)
  • 4 fishable river/creek mouths
  • group size should be small (6 or less)
  • fitness required
Interest? Suggestions? I have confirmed Parks will book lake sites on these dates, ice may be thin in places though, so there is some risk. Ice usually goes out the beginning of June.
