Garhan
I was doing a spot check on river conditions at RR20 and watched a few anglers for about 2 hours. They caught several walleye and a few whitefish between 4 and 6 pm. After they left I checked out the dam and there 2 people flogging the water at the dam to no avail. I watched them for about a hour. I decided to go back to RR20 and the Whitefish where going wild. I started with a #14 PMD and every take they pushed the fly out of the way, dropped down to a 16, same thing, dropped down to a 18 BWO. Different story with this hook size. The hook ups were steady for the rest of the evening. I know that was the first time I used a size 18 anything in over 10 years. Man they are getting more difficult to tie on the hook now. I wonder if the eyes…on the #18 hooks now are smaller than they used to make them.
