Garhan
Gary, sorry to hear about your accident. It looks like a great trip though despite that part. Also, that sure looks like Dr. Bulltrout, aka Burt from Calgary, who's holding the bull trout with the chewed off gill plate. Terry Exactly who it is, and one of my best buddies. but dont call him Dr.bulltrout because that is associated with a person on the Calgary forum that is non desirable fellow from lethbridge….lol. Aka festus- Bert K.
Terry H
Actually, it was a slip of the keyboard -- I meant Mr. Bulltrout for Bert. I do have a passing aquaintance with the Dr. Bulltrout you refer to, having met him a few times on the Crow. Anyway, it's a small world. Bert and I share a keen interest in a secret lake in these parts that has some pretty nice rainbows that we hunt in the spring before he gets going on the bulltrout. Awesome pictures and awesome looking country. Thanks for posting. Vince
Junior
I think I know that culvert. I hope you didn't fish up stream as that water is closed year round. I'm very diligent about the regs, so I must be mistaken about which culvert that is.

Terry Yes I know the lake your talking about. He always comes back to work with a smile when he goes to that lake, regardless of the catch rate. Garhan
Yes it is very nice Kristi, glad you liked the scenery. I hope that you and your shi-fu will be able to do such a trip together. It is very peaceful, fulfilling and has great rewards. You never know you just might want to stay. From what I see already Gary, I know I want to stay out. I just don't know if my Shi-Fu could handle a stay out there, he is kinda old. And I wouldn't want him to get hurt. Like I said we would condition ourselves for a trek like that.. Funny thing about Shi-Fu's they are full of surprises at any age and usually can take it.
Garhan
This trip is back in the planning stage for this year. It includes a rope this time and more pain killers that hopefully will never need to be used. I am getting excited to do this one. All healed up and time to tackle this one again. DennisS
Gary just make sure you come back in one piece. No broken bones this time. A little early for foam but maybe should ware foam suit so you bounce not break. Good luck with the southern bullies. I just ordered a wack of bunny strips when they come in, then we will give them bullies a chase for their money. Also maybe straighten up a couple of those toothy critters out at Wabamum when the times come. Tight Lines Always Dennis S
Garhan
Rabbit Strips are great stuff. There is a couple of us in the gang here that tie a Double Bunny style of pattern. Although one of the guys ties them in a host of colours from Olives , Browns, Orange, Pink, Purple, and Blacks. They are the best I have seen tied any where. Lance Chalmers is his name and he is a suberb flytier especially large patterns for Pike and Bullies. But at the end of the day when he goes fishing he always has a white pattern on as it will almost always produce. He plays with the other colours all day long and ends up with white at some point in the day. IWe always tease him to start out with white, never happens. Once we get up 6-10 fish one him he switches over, but not before that happens. The only exception to when his coloured Double Bunnies seem to be more effective is when we are in B.C. on the Kootney or the Sokumchuck especially during the Kokanee runs up the river. Then a Black and Red or a Black and Orage pattern will produce some real monsters.
DennisS
I've never tried tying the double bunny but I sure love the bunny. I've caught 95% of my bullies on that. and yes it was white. I did manage a small bull on one of my tiger bunnies tri colored yellow orange & black. This color also works will on Walleye. Caught 4 or 5 on the Red Deer last year with it. White by far is the best. The zonker bunny strips coming has a bunch of colors but majority is white and tiger. Got notice today that the bunny strips are in the mail.
