DennisS
Got back from Cuba(not fishing related actual vacation) with my wife, daughter , son-in-law and grandson. Got home and we made a short visit to my other daughter in Leslieville AB. Just a stones throw from the Stauffer. Sat dawn without hardly a cloud in the sky so decide to give the Clearwater a try. got out around and on the water about 11:30ish. River high very fast but Vis was 2ft plus. Strung on a size 4 Bunny white & purple. Dragged it though a bunch of nice looking water and finally hooked up on a smallish bull. I would estamate 13inch tops. I did get a picture but still on camera. Manage the day with out anything going wrong other than leaving my Stonefly patterns at the vehicle. Not much bug life. Saw about size 20 little balck stones. Just about the smallest i've ever seen. Saw some nice water and can not wait until it clears up and the River comes down some. Will for sure go back. It was a great day to get the Stink of Cuba off. Don Andersen
Dennis, Like you I got out on the Clearwater for a couple of days. One day was gorgeous w/o clouds/wind and the fishing was OK with 14 browns & bulls landed along with a lonely large whitefish. Two days later, Mike D came down the river came up and wind started to blow and the fishing crapped out. Mike did get a smaller white on a Godawful looking thing. Looked like day old fish guts but it worked. The river is clearing now with P.r Cr. supplying most of the colour in the bottom end. regards, Don
DennisS
Don did you ask Mike what it was. Or may he wanted you think it was a fly and it actually was dried up fish guts. Glad to here you did well. I will be give that one a few more trys this year. Big day coming up soon for the Red Deer Fishers. Just might see you out there. Have a great summer see you on the River. I think I heard rumours that NLFT renewed their lease on the Red Deer again this yr. Tight Lines AlwaysDennis S
Don Andersen
Dennis , I know exactly what it was and frankly I'm reluctant to rat out a part president of a FF club. You best torture Mike for the pattern. Now that NLFC has a lease on the Red Deer, I'm shooting for a lease on several miles of Stauffer. regards, Don
