Quentin Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Looking at the forecast, there's a few days late next week that are expected to be above 10C in Calgary. I'm seriously considering heading down for a day or two. Unfortunately, I don't know the river. If anyone has any advice, or plans to be there at that time, I'd be interested in discussing carpooling or joining up to fish. QT Quote

Especially at the tip of the Big Island on the downstreamside. I have been fishing this location for 40 years now. Cheers, Garhan Quote
Quentin Posted March 29, 2012 Author Posted March 29, 2012 Thanks for the map! I'm still hoping to get down there, but it won't be this week; it'll have to be "soon." QT Quote

QT NP, the better spots on that map are along what is called "Long Island" it is off the Bankside Burnsmead section of the river and park. The downstream tip of the island has a great run for about 2-300 yards of knee to thigh deep water. Wade across the river to the tip of the island, otherwise you will be fishing off the West shore with everyone else. Great nymphing streamers and early morning or late evening dry fly section. Good Luck.. Quote
