Quentin Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Hey all, I'm looking for a good balanced leech pattern. I've balanced up a dozen hooks, but now I can't find a pattern that I like. I googled "balanced leech pattern" and came up with a few; one was from Phil Rowley's site, and it looks essentially like a sparse woolley bugger. I did see one picture I really liked, and that was of a balanced leech - damselfly nymph. But, it was only one picture, and no real instructions for tying. If you've got a pattern -- especially with some step-by-step, I'd really appreciate it if you'd share! QT Quote
Terry H Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Have a look at the FlyBC forum. There a number of threads dealing with balanced leeches and some good patterns have been posted. Here's one that I think looks deadly. http://forum.flybc.ca/index.php?showtopic=35761&hl=balanced+leech Terry Quote
jfisherman Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Quentin, Greg here, are you taping/timeshifting Leroy Hyatt's "Angler's Art"? On February 4th Carolyn Sells tied a "balanced fly" on the show. Quote

jfisherman Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Quentin, Greg here, "the Angler's Art" program is on Saturday mornings on channel 22 at 7:30 AM. There's also a chance it's on one of the discs in the library. Quote
