PeterSL Posted October 12, 2011 Share Posted October 12, 2011 So far we have about 60 items for the Dinner/Auction on Nov 5th with more to come, and there's some great, brand new stuff to meet everyone's needs, male, female, young and old(er). Not only do we have some quality rods, Rio and Cortland fly lines, fly boxes and flies (including some of Tak Shimizu's famous clipped deer hair flies), a top of the line boat landing net, spinning reels, a line cleaner kit, Fish Cat float tube, shadow boxes with flies by Borger, Best and Shimizu, guided trips etc., but there are golf bags with clubs, golf balls and shirts, an electric travel cooler, books, gift certificates for spa treatments, tanning and massages, for a show and dinner at the River Cree, for rust proofing your car and much more. Then there's a number of different tools, Christmas ornaments, calendars, a spotting scope for those who hunt, a camera, car GPS ....... you can get most of your Christmas shopping done, get a head start on next year's fishing season, probably save yourself some money, and help the club all at the same time! We do need a few more items however to make this a real success so if you have something to donate please let me know asap so we can set up the bid sheets etc. If you need a request letter to use in approaching a business you deal with let me know and I'll email you one, customized for the individual business. Please don't leave it too late to buy your ticket for the dinner which promises to be great value too at $30. If you can't come to a Wednesday night meeting, email me with your credit card number and expiry date and your tickets will be waiting for you at the door. Bring your friends - there'll be something in the auction that they'll want to bid on! Tickets are limited but if you want to come just for the auction, let us know, turn up sometime after 8:00pm to view the items, buy tickets on the fish pull, the 50/50 and the other events that will be happening and bid to your heart's content. We rely on this auction to fund our activities for the year as all membership dues go directly to TU Canada so please help out by donating and/or coming along on November 5th.
