For our next meeting, May 4th, we're going to do a class on materials knowledge. I'll bring in most, if not all, of my materials. We'll look at various furs, feathers, and synthetics, and discuss their applications. We will also be covering the grading of materials for quality. All are welcome. No tying for this meeting, but I'm sure you'll find it very informative and interesting.

 

Often when a person starts tying flies, a friend or relative donates a scrap of fur, or a few feathers. If you have any materials you cannot identify, please bring them in. It's been a long time since anyone stumped me. Senior members, please don't read that as a challenge. ;)

Oh I definitely see it as as a challenge!

Wonder what I can dredge up from the baack of the closet.
