dcutter Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Hello all! Just joined the forum, and as a point of etiquette thought I better introduce myself. I've been an outdoorsman my entire life and have spent many many moons with a rod in hand growing up in Ontario. I moved to Alberta about 13 years ago and kind of got out of it, chosing to chase big game rather than fish. Now I have recently taken an interest in fly tying, and will be purchasing a rod and reel at the Fishing show at the Mayfield this weekend. Having never thrown a fly before, I look forward to the learning curve in transitioning from my bait-casting past. Quote

dcutter Posted April 2, 2011 Author Posted April 2, 2011 Thanks very kindly Dave. I did stop by, and I want to thank the guys there for walking my offspring through tying up a bugger! She has tied a few on her own, and she was tickled to get one done at the show. I'm moving to Yellowknife this year, so my time is pretty limited. I hope to get to one of your two seminars, but we shall see how it looks after the Minister of Finance decides our household budget I may need to declare a non-confidence vote and have her vetoed Welcome to the forum.
