Website Update: Uploading Images

Scratch

Recommended Posts

I have had to make a change on the forum tonight that I didn't want to make - but alas, I was limited in options.

Effective immediately, there is a maximum post size of 100kb. This post size has been implemented to reduce the number of large images being posted.

I was forced to do some pruning in the uploads, and removed over 40 images from the forum. Those 40 images will leave space for over 800 images at 100kb. Please do your best to host large images at a sharing site like Picasa, Flickr or Photobucket, and upload only resized images to the forum.

Thanks -

Which of the three photo sharing sites would be the best one to use if you are not a tech savy kind of guy.

And

As a general interest kind of question...if a person is using a Pentax or an Olympus waterproof job and as you know, each of them comes with their own photo program. My question is...is there a photo program out there that is easy to use and will organize your pictures without a whole bunch of hassle key strokes.

I use Photobucket , you just register up load a photo, then put your curser on the photo you want to upload a drop down menue will show and then you put your curser on the IMG code, or IMG thumb, copy which one you want and then got to your post, and paste.. very easy..

you can up load several images at the same time, and do some neat work on the photos.

This is IMG Thumb..

Easiest Vince?

Buy a Mac and use iPhoto and Flickr. Otherwise, Photobucket works well... Afraid I can't fight that fight for ya though... everyone will have a different take on any of the services out there. Best I can offer is that for many, the price is free - so you'll just have to try things out...

Vince old boy, as a loyal customer of Shaw, you are already paying a montly fee that includes some webspace. Your share is at

http://www.members.shaw/VincesuserID

Get yourself a free FTP program (e.g. http://www.nchsoftware.com/ftp/index.html)

and upload your pictures to the webspace you're already paying for. Your photos can then be posted as

http://www.members.shaw/VincesuserID/picturefilename.jpg

for example, have a look at the handsome fishin dude in this photo on my webspace.

Vince looks too clean in that photo (I think you photo shopped a photo of Vince trying on new clothing at a local shop!).

Terry

If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times "You are the man". Thanks for the Shaw info...I'm going to give it a go and see how it works out. Wow, that picture of me you posted sure brings up good memories...such beautiful water, such beautiful fish and all with a great fishing partner. Can't wait for spring to come along...so much line to put on water. I best get my rear in gear and tye up more flies...the ole boxes are looking a bit bleak.

ReelLife, if you feel good and look like a clean cut kind of guy it shows respect to all of those little beauties. Maybe that's why I have such good luck on the dry...they come up to have a look, see that I'm clean cut and figure why not take this fellows dry instead of the other guys nymph. Thats my storey and I sticking to it.

Thanks again Terry

Reellife don't let Vince snow you on the dry fly thing. Actually what happened is Terry felt sorry for vince. Terry had been catching so many more fish nymphing that he let Vince hold one of his fish to take that picture.

As for clean cut how can you make a Sicillian mad fisherman look clean cut.:laugh:
