Raven River Redd Count

Through a partnership between the Edmonton Chapter of Trout Unlimited and Golder Associates, we are conducting an investigation of fish and fish habitat and riparian health on the Raven River, near Caroline Alberta. This work is part of an overarching study to assess riparian conditions in the watershed as well as assess the composition of the fish community and the distribution of fish in the river, and to help estimate population size. As part of this work, TUC and Golder will be conducting a survey for brown trout redds on the Raven River for the second consecutive year. The survey is a great opportunity to see the river during an important time of year, learn/sharpen redd survey skills, or just enjoy a day on the water.

If you are available and interested in participating in this effort, reply to Ryan Popowich of Goulder adn associatess at Ryan_Popowich@golder.com using the subject line, "Raven River redd survey - volunteers needed" (between now and November 15), and list your preferred dates available . I will then contact volunteers to discuss details and provide an information package including maps and specific instructions on how to conduct the survey.
