North Ram River

don't have a clue

The best resource I know of for that kind of info is the flyfishcalgary forum. Check it out, it's got a SLIGHTLY larger member base, and they update regional and site specific reports frequently.

That being said, pretty much everywhere is low, with run-off looming.

Well, I went to the Ram area on the weekend and had a great time. The water levels were nice for this time of year and the water was gin clear. I didn’t catch as many cuts as I normally do but did get some nice ones. I think the weather was to cool for hatching and had little luck on dries catching most on small leaches. I hiked in to the falls on Fall creek but had no luck. It is about a two hour hike in, what used to be nice natural meadows are now muddy ruts created by ATVs it is a crime what these off road vehicles are doing to our wilderness areas. Once they have dug done so deeply with their machines that they can longer get through they simply drive into the meadows to create new ruts until the same happens again. What to do?

Guys

Something really does need to be done. Pictures for sure but one or two people sending in a picture will not, in my opinion get any attention. A mess of people sending in pictures via an organization may have an impact. The destruction these machines cause is unreal...I should correct....it is not the machines but the idiot's on top of the machine. The manufacturer's, through their ads, promote destruction of land and a similar set of pictures should be sent off to them...."tread lightly" used to be a well used action and phrase which has now gone by the wayside.

What ever happened to the use of these machines to take you to a hunting spot or to a fishing area....days gone by a guess.

Okay, call me a cynic if you must, but let me explain something about politics to you young fellers. If a politician doesn't receive enough pressure on an issue, he/she knows it's safe to ignore it; if enough noise is made on the subject, the politician knows to make promises come next election, and then ignore it.

Dan, I think that gun suggestion has merit. My father had an expression, maybe you know it, "It's only illegal if you get caught."

If you think about it, most of us are fairly practiced at sneaking up on prey.

Seriously, I really hope I never run into one of those guys washing his quad by doing doughnuts in the stream. I think I might get myself into trouble. The judge would say I overreacted, my outburst and insults would get me contempt of court...you get the picture.
