RangerBob Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 The province's new online campground reservation system is launching with a bang. Cindy Ady, Minister of Tourism, Parks and Recreation says, within 3 hours, the system received 146 thousand hits. "When I look at how many actual, before lunchtime, people signed on, and actually put their name in to reserve a site ... We have ninety-two hundred, before lunchtime. And of that ninety-two hundred, sixty-two hundred actually booked a site. So, it took off like a rocket." Ady says because of the high volume of users, the site was at times overwhelmed, and people couldn't get on. It's now become more quiet. While nearly all the available campsites at 25 campgrounds have been booked for the may long weekend, Ady says there are still 38 other campgrounds not online that can be booked by phone.
