RangerBob Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Topic: Fly Box “Show, Tell and Pinchfest” Comment: Come out and get your fly boxes ready for spring. The idea is to bring your fly boxes and sit with fellow fishers and go over the contents as to what is there, what is missing and perhaps how to organize them. You may even want to swap a few flies to exchange patterns. This also provides an opportunity to inspect your flies to make sure all the barbs are pinched down in keeping with Alberta regulations. RangerBob Posted March 12, 2008 Author Posted March 12, 2008 Roy, Speaking of glue. I hit Michael's recently and found the best & cheapest solution for sticking on Mirage eyes. Bulk qty, easy dispense tube.. and resealable container. Much cheaper then Zap A Gap glue.. again.. got only one use out of as tube got hole in and dried up over the tying season. LOCTTTE - SUPER GLUE GEL And... for Copper Johns I got this Uber Clear Non Stanky Epoxy. Easy Cast Clear Casting Epoxy PS - I just filled up, organized 16 fly boxes this weekend. Flipping through Dan Bailey's & Fly Shop 2008 Catalog to see what new must have patterns I should have now that all the staples are done (i.e. one box of wooly buggers). PPS - Did you notice that Poxy could be 'tinted'. Quote
dave robinson Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Suerglue can also be found at any good hobby retailer. The guys on 103 just south of Argyle have a couple of different brands with three different thickness of product. Quote
