Scratch
I have not included anything of value in this reply, but at some point I will. /Scratch Vince... do we need to have another... 'discussion'?
dave robinson
Vince: Vehicle or Zodiak? I was at Riverside on Saturday to look at theirs. Bozos had brought in the ones I ordered, but sold them to somebody else. They had to order again, so now I wait. They also didn't have the little adapter for the foot pump hose to fit the large valve. They called today to say they got that in, but no wheels yet. Drat! I still want to look at them to see how they attach before buying. Now if you're talking vehicle... I thought you already bought a bigger 4 wheel rollover. vince
Dave and Scratch Ah, the post was meant to be the starting point as to where 6 of us who ordered the Launching Gear wheels were to meet but we did it the good old fashioned way...ya know...the telephone. Great wheel system for pontoon boats...very well built. I got a kick out of the reply's and in particular yours Scratch..can't wait to hear the reply of value. Yes, I did get myself a newer Jeep. Picked up a 2005 Jeep TJ Unlimited Rubicon...took it our for a bit of a whirl tonight and I like it lots. Wanted a Jeep with a bit more room and because this is the Unlimited it has a 10 inch longer wheelbase and 15 inches of extra cargo room plus a whole bunch of extra stuff that I know I'm going to use and some that I hope I never need to use but there if I need it. Now its time to sell my 99 Jeep TJ...so if anyone interested please let me know. Heading down south on Sunday to fish the Livingstone, Oldman etc and returning the following Sunday so I won't be at the next meeting but I will be there in spirit. T.H. only a few more sleeps. Vince PS Scratch...I await your reply of value.
Scratch
Glad to hear you all went ahead with it - the Launching Gear really does the trick. Setting up my boat at camp this year at Dolberg and just 'wheeling it down' to the water was a treat as always... It's not a guaranteed lifesaver - but if you tend to transport your 'toon already setup - it's unstoppable! As for the 'Value' post - that was a red herring.... I'm 'invaluable...' Happy Friday all....
Morph1
Hey Dave, are you still waiting for your new Zodiak ???, if so that's crazy..... If I may ask what is the total cost of that unit, from whay I read you were having a 10ft'er on the order with the rigid floor, the reason I am asking is that I got an awesome deal on a boat like that from e-bay, the quality of my boat is unbelievable, one of my co-workers has a zodiak and seen my boat he said everything was about the same ,except my material seems heavier than his zodiak, The cost of my boat was 3 x less than the cost of a zodiak boat, and arrived in 3 weeks time right on the scheduled date. I had the boat 3 times out and it is the best buy I've ever made for the money.
dave robinson
No I'm not waiting for the boat. I took delivery of that in March. My only issue is with the idiot dealer who was suposed to bring launching wheels in for me and sold them before I could look at them. Another set is on order. I've had the 10ft Zodiak out and like it a lot as does Dennis S who bought the same boat. I know there are similar boats out there made by other manufacturers that are cheaper. I looked at three of them and was not impressed. The Zodiak is just a heftier and better thought out boat. Also, my dad's old one lasted 25 years, so I would tend to believe in their durability, especially considering that the new ones have welded seams not the glued ones that finally gave up the ghost on my dads. I'm getting the last tweaks put together to make is suit my use. That's launching wheels of some type, a quick deploy and release front anchor arrangement, and some minor stuff for inflating and deflating a bit quicker. I hope to have it all done in about a week. After that it shoud be a no brainer boat to use.
