Shikari Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Greetings all. I am a transplant from Vancouver Island to south west Alberta. Got tired of the rain and fog and am very pleased with the sunshine here even tho it IS a mite windy now and then. Also the bird shooting on Vancouver Island is a thing of the past while it flourishes here and I am one of the most ardent devotees of that fine sport. Got my new drivers licence the other day which confirms that I am now an Albertan so I would like to learn as much as I can as soon as I can about trout fly fishing close to home which is just south of Lethbridge. From what I can gather, the Waterton is the most scenic of my target rivers so I would like to explore that first. I am interested to know if there is someone who would like to accompany and show the local ropes to a middle aged fisherman who has chased trout most of his life, sometimes in strange places such as the Himalayan foothills, now interested in sport close to home. I will tell you my stories if you will tell me yours. Gourmet trail lunches my specialty and your reward!! Quote

Jim Fox Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Shikari, Check out the Fishing Conclaves section of the NLFTC page for information about the FF@/CANFF@/NLFTF Alberta Klave, being held in the upper Oldman watershed. This event will certainly let you meet up with some passionate flyfishers from around Alberta and abroad. My email is in the message if you'd like more information. Jim Fox Klavemeister Quote
