Tim Doskoch has been selected to receive one of Canada's Recreational Fisheries Awards for 2007 for his work in conceiving and implementing the Muir Lake Project. The award "recognizes Mr. Doskoch's outstanding contribution to recreational fisheries in Alberta and the superb example it has set for others working to improve our fisheries." An award ceremony is being organized in Ottawa in the spring.

As Tim says, "it has now become easier to implement other delayed harvest fisheries."

Congratulations to you, Tim, and to all those who worked so hard to make this idea into a reality!

Hey thanks,

Nobody takes on one of these projects to get an award, but it is nice when it happens mostly because it helps raise the profile of FESA in getting more projects off the ground. It also will help bring the concept of delayed-harvest into broader discussion.

A bit thanks to everyone who has helped with Muir so far, nothing would have happened without your help.

Did I get a chance to mention that we are looking at another project SW of Edmonton and we will need some volunteers to help with the casting platform at Muir this spring.

Cheers,

Tim
