wbaj
Just curious if anyone has ever tried anything other than Gink, dry fly spray etc for dressing their dry flies. I heard today about a fellow who uses Scothguard. He sprays the hackle before he tieds the flies, that way only the hackle has floatant and the body stays in the water. Anyone else ever used this product or method?? Pros, cons ?? Thanks
dave robinson
I've used Muclin and the SA spray stuff, but Gink seems to work best. It's particularly effective when coupled with Loon High Ride I suppose you could try anything that's hydrophobic. Which reminds me, I got some anti-fog stuff for my swim goggles. I wonder if that would work.
Bill Gouge
Hi Almost any grease will work but it may be considered being bait if it is from animal sources. Tight Lines Bill Gouge PS Dave give me a call if you are still on line.
vince
Wbaj I'm not fond of Gink...I tried it once and was not pleased. I have used and continue to use the floatant put out by Fenwick...works good for me. Vince

pacres
Loon has a fly dip product that you can submerge you flies into and let them dry. I also used to use a silicon spray that worked well. I use gink for the most part now though, as it works well for me. My only complaint with gink is that it's hard to squeeze out the right amount when it's cold.
