Seeking advice on 9wt reel

I am currently in the market for a 9wt reel that is saltwater friendly(affordable), does anyone have any suggestions????

 

Okuma airframe, integrity? Pflueger trion, medalist, supreme?

 

so many to pick from........Help?

I bought a 9 weight Lamson Velocity about three years ago

for a fly fishing expedition for Coho and have been so pleased with it

that I replaced most of my smaller weight reels with the same model.

 

It has very low startup drag and inertia and has one of the smoothest drags on the market. All the critical parts are sealed away from salt water and air

and the finish is salt resistant. It's a mid sized arbout rel so it take line up reaonably quickly without being as bulky as many large arbout reels.

I would agree with Mr. Robinson on this. Lamson makes superb reels when pursuing large fish where a good drag is a necessity.

Well after being out bid on ebay for a great deal on an airflo reel with a another 9wt rod.. ...I settled on a lower midgrade reel by okuma as I don't think it will get much use other then my tropical vacation this year and the odd trip to the coast......however I did get a great deal.....less that 50 beans delivered

I have used my 9 wt. Lamson Lightspeed (LS3.5) for the last 3 yrs. for Salmon and Pike and quite satisfied with it.
