This important document is revised every 5 years. The process of developing the 2006-2010 strategy is underway, and input from the public is being sought. Starting September 5, 2006, Albertans are invited to participate in an online survey and provide their input on Alberta's proposed revisions to the strategy. This document describes the strategic direction the department is taking towards fisheries management in our province. This strategy is revised every five years, as an important step in ensuring Alberta’s fisheries are managed for sustainable benefit. The survey will take you through the series of 23 key revisions. It should take approximately 30 minutes to complete. For each item, you will find a brief description of the topic, along with a description of how the item is handled in the current Conservation Strategy (under the heading “Used to be…”), followed by the proposed wording (under the heading “Is changed to…”) and then the Rationale for the proposed change. For each item, you may indicate your level of support for the change and add comments. You may change your responses at any time, prior to submitting the survey. Once you click “submit”, the survey is completed and you won’t be able to make changes. This survey can only be completed once per Internet account.
