Peter is a BC guide and manufacturer’s representative. At the Calgary FFF he had a new gizmo from Sage that is supposed to diagnose casting faults. Peter will be bringing the electronic whiz to our meeting for us to try out.

Apparently it’s an device that attaches to a fly rod and while you make a few casts, keeps track of the motion for hand and rod. After you’re done, it’s connected to a computer and it shows you how your cast compares to an ideal one. This should prove interesting.

I'm looking forward to getting a shot at this. Pretty soon all rods will come with a computer chip that will tell us about each cast. Something like...hey jackass, what kind of a roll cast was that...pay attention or I'm going to shock you so you wake up and do it right.
