Walk don't run to this URL:

http://books.google.com/

Type in a few of your favorite kewords like 'Fly-tying' and 'Fly-fishing'.

http://books.google.com/books?q=Fly-tying&...rch+Books&hl=en

http://books.google.com/books?ie=UTF-8&q=F...ing&btnG=Search

Then you can search the contents of actual physical books and have results displayed to you.

RB's TIP: Get a google account! If you have a google account you can then search the entire contents of the book. Start at either the index or table of contents. Or search by page numbers. Yup, you can reference any part of the book that way.

Thanks for the tip to Google Books. It took me a day to get my Google account activated, but now I am in business (although they seem to be having some problems at Google, judging by the number of times they say that the service is unavailable due to virus attack)

The service is a great way to check out books. As it happens, I was thinking of getting Mike Lawson's book on Spring Creeks. Lots of good stuff inside, but is seems to be mostly in black and white for the pictures and illustrations. Do you know if Google scans all the color pages in color, or to they simplify and scan some color pages in black and white?

Looking forward to the pyro-works tonite,

siwash

Ditto on BOTH accounts. Yeah... Mike is a great guy (I visited his flyshop once in MT and met him up here in Edmonton with Jack & Gary). Anything he has to say I would definitely listen to.. being he was ALWAYS the slient one of the trio (AND we have a few Spring Ck gems in Alberta). Blew my socks away that he FINALLY did a book. Hope I can get it autographed one day too (and get back to the Henry's Fork)... although I do already have his authograph with a Jack and Friends book signing he did up here once. I'll treasure that day always!
