A bit of a thunderstorm out there right now.... coming down hard too. Is it supposed to rain all evening? If so, you may get a little wetter than ya thought

later.

So while they"fished", me and Scratch taunted them from above for a bit then wandered off to go find my Geocache nearby (what we came down for). A great evening... except for the bugs.

Also found this one. There are lots more in the area now too. Bring your GPS next time.

From the Beverly Bridge, they looked like pylons. Speaking of "pile ons" near had one coming back from GC'in when a trailer ramp fell off a truck on the bridge in the lane next to us. We (or someone else) mighta come close to joining the guys below in the river. Not a good scene. :curse:

Oh how I love Google Earth with the GPS option. :D

....what was on the truck that almost got ya?

Uh, trailer ramps you use to drive heavy equipment onto back of truck. Sorry, no photos taken... I (we) was (were) busy screaming like little girls squatting down at the "Bat Cave".

The picket fence was 0 for when I left about 9pm.

Dan and Paul had a few tentative bumps but no solid hookups.

I didn't even get a snif.

The river is still about a foot too high to wade out far enough

to easily reach the uisual seams.

All that water has scoured out the river though.

Former mudhole areas are now solid gravel.

No danger of losing a boot to the muck.

Fish are probably in different lies now, so wait a week or two.

Not a complete waste of a trip though.

Spent about 20 minuted picking saskatoons

Got about a quart of dark ripe ones.

Had I been about 3 ft taller I coulda picked a galoon.

Tasted great with ice cream.

...just so as everyone knows, when Dan and I left, the water level has risen at least 8 - 10 inches...there was this rock along the edge of the river that was completely out of the water and it is now totally submerged...

...as Dave said, no more mud, solid rock/gravel bed...

...fun just to be out casting in moving waters again...

Congrats on the Lightning shots.... You couldn't miss last night

re: river rising.... Do you figure it was from the rain? Or do think they opened the dam up stream???
