RangerBob
Go outside and look North right now. NLCs and Northern Lights are dancing! Could be the last chance of the year to see NLC tonight.. and oh yeah.. I also predicted seeing them. I noticed every time (after 5 years of observation) whenever we get an evening rainstorm they seem to appear. They should be visible until well past 3 AM before the sun comes up. The view from my light polluted backyard (taken just now). Now, to go to bed.. or to not go to bed.
RangerBob
My buddy Pete took some killer NLC photos last night. Now I wish I got out of the city. Err wait.. he lives in the country.. and he came into the city for this shot. Doh! This one also rocks! :: http://edmontonobservers.net More Pics Here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/spacehutobser...ry/sets/484821/

Scratch
It's horribly off topic for the NLFT site - Edmonton Observers Group has lots on information about night / star / NL / NLC photography. Very cool stuff if you ask me - and at midnight - right now - the NLC's are going CRAZY to the north... shooting some timelapse video as we speak. Although I continue to post about sighting of the event and Northern Lights -- as it is somewhat related to our club name. I also know many of you have an interest in the sky. And.. if you do... well free free to join my forum. Nuff said. WHAT! NLC now... seesh.. thanks... I gotta check that out now! I've been busy uploading photos to Flick for the last 8 hours! Must get out of ManCave... wife is also home now after a week apart... should I stay... or should I go. Hmmmm. Good to see my prediction for NLC was right tonight though. RangerBob
Oh yeah, look outside due NORTH for NLC right now. Best display of the year so far! This one was so wide I had to shoot 6 frames to fit it all in. Larger size is on the EOG website.
Scratch
Got more timelapse last night - including a short appearance by the northern lights... very cool - incidentally - they disappeared over night, and returned at about 3 am.
