Doc Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 (edited) Due to unforeseen circumstances, the kids from Calgary will be canceling their trip to Edmonton. The Foothills Alliance Church sincerely apologies for any inconvenience this has caused us and are still interested in a future trip if we are still interested. I would like to thank everyone who volunteered to help these kids out and am rather disappointed myself as this (in my mind) is what Muir Lake is all about. Cheers Doc Edited June 25, 2005 by Doc Quote
RangerBob Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 Perhaps they heard it was raining in Northern Alberta now? Oh well... life happens. Let us know well in advance when they plan to come up next time. I coulda showed 'em how to cast in flooded out parking lots like this too. Quote

dave robinson Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 (edited) Only problem with fishing flooded parking lots is that you may end up catching mating toads. Right RB? Edited June 27, 2005 by dave robinson Quote

dave robinson Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 For those who had thought about helping out with Docs (now cancelled) Kids Intro to fly fishing Anybody interested in heading out Muir way tomorrow anyway? I've booked the day off and am thinking of heading there. I want to be back about dinner time, so am planning to be there around 10am to 4pm. If you want to float with me, let me know and I'll bring Chiquita. Otherwise I'll be testing out my Dad's old Zodiak. I'll ask at tonight's meeting too. Quote
Scratch Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Will try to make it - but won't be until after noon - I have a few things on the go tomorrow that I can't get out of. Quote

albertabowhunter Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 You guys are no fun... At least tell me in anyone floted the darn river? If so how was it. Quote
Scratch Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 You guys are no fun... At least tell me in anyone floted the darn river? If so how was it. It was a blast - 4 hours long, full of rapids, and good fishy spots - and in the end - the most unpleasant river crossing I've ever seen. (The McLeod is a fast deep river - NEVER underestimate a river crossing.) Quote
albertabowhunter Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 cool, looks like you guys had a blast... Yes, the mcleod can be an ugly river when it wants to... well, good to see you all made it home.... Wish I could have joined ya... Next year Quote
