Hi folks,

New member here (not sure how active this forum is but thought it's worth a shot to throw a post out).

My name's Mitch Wincentaylo, and I'm with the Athabasca Watershed Council. We are focusing our efforts on the Hinton-Edson areas, and doing outreach with folks (anglers, rec groups, etc.) to help us identify priority areas such as degraded riparian areas, stream crossings, and to get a general sense of some of the fish populations in the smaller tributaries.

I came across some old posts about impacted crossings at Sundance Creek, so thought this would be a good place to start and hopefully get in touch with members that actively fish the creeks and rivers out this way. If you'd like to chat more, please message me or email mitch@athabascawatershed.ca and we can set up some time to discuss.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Just noticed this post.  I have talked to several of the Edson people from Fish & Wild Life regarding The horrible shape the Edson R. is in.  It could be a great fishery if looked after.  Hopefully this one is on your radar.

Hi Dennis,

Thanks for the reply - we've been in discussion with ACA and some other property owners around Edson River. It's definitely on our radar, and we have some extensive riparian restoration planned for the next few years, so much of the degraded shoreline/crossings will hopefully be restored in the near future!

If you want any follow up on this, feel free to get in touch with me at mitch@athabascawatershed.ca

Thanks,
