This coming Wednesday (October 19, 2016) I will be tying some deer and elk hair patterns. Dave Towers will have big patches of deer and elk hair for sale for very reasonable prices. Also some moose hair, some polar bear fur and assorted other furs. The patterns I will be tying are the Goddard Sedge to demonstrate spinning deer hair, a Deer Hair Caddis to show some tricks about handling deer hair, and a Mikuluk Sedge to demonstrate stacking elk hair. I may do a Comparadun if there is time. All patterns use dry fly hooks, I am going to demo on a standard size 10, 6/0 tying thread, some dubbing, and dry fly hackle to match the hook size.
