  1. Just wanted to say hi. I saw how many Canadians were on here and decided to join the party. My name is Ken and I'm originally from the great city of Calgary, Alberta. I now , however, toil in Salt Lake City, Utah. Please don't hold that against me.

Of course I love hockey (even though my beloved Flames sucked in this years playoffs) and most all sports. I work in the TV news industry and get out to what pass as mountains here whenever possible.

  2. Joe, it's not a marine battery you need, but rather, a deep cycle RV battery. They're designed to repeatedly go from full charge to complete discharge whereas a marine battery is like a car battery -- it's designed to operate mostly at a full charge. If you want to spend some extra dollars, you might consider a gell cell deep cycle battery, so you won't have to worry about spilling battery acid all over your waders :( (not good) and pontoon boat :(:( (very not good).

The 55lb motor should nove you pretty good. I used to motor down Maligne Lake in my 12ft car topper using a 40lb motor, and it moved at a good clip.

You are 100% correct on that. I have the RV deep cycle battery and I have gone all the way to the end of maligne and back and still had enough the next weekend to troll on carson in a 14ft zodiac and 2 fat boys. I don't remember what I paid for it but it has been worth every penny. I bought it from Rockys Battery..
  3. Only condition is that you blow up the Zodiak with your mouth...no pumps

Not a problem I have a teenager with lots of hot air :)

just kidding.... if you have an electric motor, will you pull me to the other side of the island? I want to save my energy for casting...

Yes I have a electric and will pull you to the other side :)
