Last week, a couple of our club members were involved in a meeting regarding stream temperature monitoring. There were approximately 20 involved from various TUC chapters (NLFF, Bow River, Oldman River, TUC National) as well as AEP (Alberta Environment and Parks), DFO (Department of Fisheries and Oceans), the U of A , ACA, West Fraser. and Aquality . Intent: To work collaboratively and engage in a standard approach to stream temperature monitoring in Alberta. Following the meeting; to continue to talk regularly, and to share data and ideas going forward.
Various protocols and procedures were discussed with an objective to standardize and share ideas about stream temperature monitoring. We are happy to be working together towards common goals with such a variety of stakeholders.
Thanks to Jim O'Neil and Corey Stefura for representing us.
