Hi all,

I thought I could come to you all for some advice. At work we are looking to do a survey for Prussian carp in various waterbodies. Electrofishing will not work so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions regarding how to catch these guys??

A HUGE thank you in advance to everyone!!!!

Alex

Saw this post on Alberta Outdoorsmen forum:

"I was out at DeWitt;s Pond May 13, 2016 and I could not believe what I was witnessing.

They did not keep the small rainbows only the carp.

He was using a whole wheat flour thick paste on about a #14 hook. The carp were 3"-5" long.

Host a kids only fishing event. Supply them bobbers rods, line, bait (mixed flour and water with cheese, either Velveta or Cheese whiz for bait balls)   and hooks. Possibly one of the major fishing stores would assist by supplying products that have there name all over it and reuse this product everytime you need to do a survey. Make it fun and at the same time teach them fish handling before the are exposed to recognized sportfish in Alberta.

Flyfishing is my love and flytying my mistress.
