Tu Dinner May 10

The club traditionally donates flies for an auction item at the TU dinner. We've got a few so far, but we are a long way from a full box.

I heard snow is in the forecast - maybe a good time to tye up a few for the donation box. We'll be accepting donations May 2 and May 9 at the club.

Beginners' Fly Tying

This Saturday we are having the beginners' fly tying. Rick looks like the coordinator and mentioned quite a few flies tonight. I would like to use this thread to exchange information, coordinate and prepare for the event. What are we tying? What should we bring with us (volunteer instructors)? What are the hours? I assume we are at the Queen Mary Park location. What is the format again. I am sorry if I am the only one who needs the information, tonight I was busy with the presentation.

April 18 - Topic Change

Our scheduled speaker, John Acorn let us know about a booking error that he made. "I just received an email, which lead to the horrifying realization that I am double-booked for Wednesday night, and that the other speaking engagement is in Calgary."

He really does does want to speak with us and we are working on future arrangements.

In the meantime on April 18, Florin is going to talk to us about his recent outing on the Crow. He’ll have a few pictures, perhaps some maps and will share some patterns that have worked.

Very much looking forward to our next meeting....Be Bear Aware should be a very interesting presentation. Pretty well all of the places we fish have a population of bear and with our new fishing season coming quickly the presentation should be of interest to all.
