January Seminar 2014 - Who Would You Like To See?

I'd like to see a mix of local knowledge and professional speaker together with a mix of sessions on moving and still water fishing. And something too that's not available on UTube I think too that Todd Oishi's presentation a few years back was extremely popular and that he has more to offer.....so here's my suggestion for a seminar program:

Saturday:

9:00-10:15 Oishi - Advanced Stillwater Strategies

10:30 - 11:30 Barry White - Fishing Larger Rivers

11:30-11:50 Q and A session

1:00 -2:15 Oishi - Soft Hackle and Wet fly fishing

2:30 - 3:30 Reuben - Fishing the Creeks and Streams of Alberta

3:30 - 4:30 Oishi - Bank Fishing Strategies

Sunday:

9:00 - 10:15 Oishi - The Importance of Colour

10:30 - 11:30 Barry White - Reflections on 40 years of Flyfishing Alberta

11:30 - 11.50 Q and A session

1:00 - 2:00 Oishi - Thinking Outside the Box

2:00 - 2:30 Reuben - Equipment- what's new in rods, reels, lines and leaders

2:45 - 4:00 Oishi - Flytying Demonstration

Peter very good suggestion and thought put into your suggestion. Worth while concidering

looks like you put research into it and thought.

It's easy to suggest some one but we also need a good reason why to have that person.

Tight lines Always.

Who is Dave Mc Phail? And where is he from. Is he a lake or stream fisherman

Brian D

he is both lake and stream angler. But he is a world class flytyer and respected throughout the UK, Europe and North America.

Peter,

This looks pretty good. I like the idea of having 3 speakers to mix things up.

Michael

I like the idea as well of three feature tiers, but I would like to see some up and coming local talent from Alberta as side venues. It would then allow for some of use to sit in on those side venues if we have heard or are not interested in the main features programs. Allows a minor option and helps spawn new up and coming talent that also give them exposure.

Here is what the plan will likely be. This coming Wednesday there will be a sheet passed around that will have all these names on it. Each member present will be asked to put a check mark beside his/her top three picks from the list. The checks will be counted and verified against a head count.

Then the executive will use this list to plan the next two to three seminars.
