It's been a bear of a week.

Monday late day work panic and evening computer crash

Tuesday and Wednesday, in Calgary arguing with contractors

Thursday, meetings all day then hockey (dang shootout loss in a booooring game)

The good news is my Doc 'did the usual physical today

and said I'm in no peril if imminent demise

So I should be able to get the electronic version of the newsletter to Scratch tomorrow.

For the Iron Fly Tyer

Yes Master Dale returns to defend his title.

Challenger 1

Mike (Doc) Montieth (already whining that he dosen't tie dry flies)

Challenger 2

Alex (Yo Ballast) Del Hiero (back in town and actually working)

Required flies: one each of nymph, wet fly and dry fly.

Tyers bring all their junk(who knows what will come in handy)

Mystery Material: (already chosen)

I can hardly wait

Chairman Dave

Doc is petrified at the idea of having t tie a dry fly I think.

Alex has his own wheels now, but yeah... I wonder if he'll show. <_< What's yer backup plan.. cause I ain't bringing my pimped out hat this year. Just a sharp pencil for judging. :pimp:

Scratch you got your camcorder.. I am all outta tape. If not I guess we can grab the clubs. We got 'em all on tape so far... hate to mess with tradition.

Those are the really big furry ones from Down under... still fresh aren't they?

And... he told me they were soft and cuddly?

Anyways, I'm bugging out now to setup the "Tying Stadium".. catchya there. You don't wanna miss tonights meeting.... erm.. public heckling.

The Challenge... in 45 minutes only allotted... tye up 3 flies... a Wet.. a Nymph... and a Dry with "the stuff". Here's what they did... and shown in no particular order.

Named In Clockwise Order:

1) Bug Ugly - Wet Fly

2) Purple Prince Pupa - Nymph

3) Purple Haze - Dry Fly

(It was the nicest Dry Fly too.. no worries Doc!)

Oh yeah... almost forgot... Chairman Dave... revealing the secret ingredient.

I'll Fickr some more up later on. Post 'em if you got 'em... and yeah... Alex's Streamer scored a perfect score. The only critique we had was that it shoulda used Red Biots... or Jungle Cock.

Dang... now I gotta go buy some Purple B*stard Fur... and judging by the look on Doc's face there... he never wants to see it again. :D
