    Thank You

Chad, Nice way for an entry...congrats on winning your new fishing buddy...the stories that you both will soon tell...
  2. ...took another trip out to Muir on Sunday, March 09, 2014 and here is what I saw...each picture was taken from the same location, only zoomed in after the first snapshot...
  3. ...and a couple more pictures...
  4. ...then last Wednesday, March 05, 2014...I dropped in to check out Muir again after work, and this is what I saw...WOW, what a difference a couple of weeks make...is this normal? It is the first time I actually saw the ice build up like this.

  7. Headed out to Muir Lake to take some pictures Saturday, February 22,2014. This is what I saw. Not much open water around the aerator, most likely due to the cold weather.
  8. ...nice...I'll take a dozen tied on a 3/0 hook and then I am ready for some spring piken...again, nice tie Jim...
  9. I have not been out to many meetings these days...but I am definitely available for all day Saturday and all day Sunday...I am trying to get to this weeks meeting, I will sign up for the show then.
  10. ...congrats Jim...any pictures going to be posted? Are the results of the tying competition going to be posted on their site?
  11. ...I still have a life's time supply from last years purchase...as Dennis said, some very good colors in the bag...once again, a huge thanks to Don for selling and then donating the proceeds to the Muir Lake fund...
  12. Craig, You came to the right place...if you are in the Edmonton area, the club meets every Wednesday (Queen Mary Park) for tying, discussion or whatever else...there is definitely the knowledge at the club in both the teaching of fly tying and casting techniques. I myself have not been to too many meetings lately, just been way too busy these days, time to slow down...kids(family) are welcome to the club as well...
  13. ...way cool...neat to see how the fish move among each other...thanks for posting the video...

Thanks guys...these were fun to tie as usual...I was selfish as well. I tied up some for me too... heeheeheeheehee ...the event was fantastic and I think everyone who attended had a fabulous time...lots of monies were raised for this great charity...the flies sold for a good value, not as much as the value listed, but still a good value, every little bit helps and goes a long way... Already looking forward to next year, just maybe I might start tying up some flies earlier than I usually do.

...once again I am involved in the ACTSS (Animal Cancer Therapy Subsidization Society of Alberta) by donating flies (trout and pike) and attending this event for this wonderful organization. As an added flavor, I have decided to build (model) some crank-baits from wood. So far they have turned out okay...still lots of work to do with balancing, painting and adding weights for the lure to float properly...will post pictures soon...
  23. great to see the fishing is still good...seems that there is a lot more fishies downstream of the log jam...got to get out soon, very soon...thanks for sharing Ken...
  24. ...excellent...maybe with the water levels dropping back to normal...the fish are settling down...good to hear that the Grayling are being caught in the runs and riffles now...was puzzling before...thanks for sharing your day with us all.
  25. ...well Dan...we will make it work..we always do.
