  1. ...then, when I looked up, which way do we go...cannot see the creek from here...can't even hear it...so we just headed out across the clearing, because the map clearly showed it to be so...the GPS unit agreed too...
  2. ...on the way down...what an unexpected find...strawberries...at least that is what I think they are picking...
  3. ...so I mentioned about steep going down, picture posted previously, but here it is again...
  4. ...hey Dennis...last time I looked, I spelled my name Paul, not Dan...but that's okay...Dan was there too, so was Karen...
  5. ...so with that, one can see why fishing in this area should be passed on for now...who knows, it could change next year with the high water run-off...are we there yet!!!...
  6. ...there was even some color along the way...
  7. ...just a couple of random shots...
  8. ...there were three small creeks flowing into Dismal in this area, see a couple of pictures...
  9. ...well, here are some pictures...none of fish...water is very, very, very skinny here...
  10. ...on this note...avoid DC12...very picturesque, but not very fishable...water is only knee deep on average...no deep pools...no fish holding spots...lots of slippery rocks...if you like lots of wading in shallow waters, then this place is for you...some pictures will follow soon...oh, did I mention. it was steep going down and steep coming back up...very little angling was done in this location, as it did not support fish, either whitefish or grayling...plenty of bear tracks...black bear...was it a wasted trip...I say no. some may say it was, but that is their opinion...the reason I say it was not a wasted trip, I think it is a valuable learning tool on the habitat and the erosion that is found, as fisher-people, we do not see what the biologist see...that is another reason I take so many pictures...I tend to look at things in different perspectives... ...anyways, in short, no fish were caught or seen in this area...looking forward to the next outing though... Paulf
  11. See you there...bright and early...
  12. ...and here are pictures to prove it is Ken...
  13. Ok Vince...didn't know if anyone was following this...see below, highlighted in red circle,, this is Ken at one of the many fishing spots.
  14. Yes, it was another great day on the water...lets play that "Where is Waldo" ...can you find the fisher in this picture...if you see it right away, don't say anything, lets give others some time to look/
  15. A big thank you goes out to Ken and Jim for their work putting this outing together and a big thank you to all of you out there fishing, tagging and reporting on your day...
  16. Ken...good to hear that fish were caught both below and above the log jam...that almost indicates that fish are getting through...this outing should help tremendously with all the fish caught and tagged...
  17. Mike...glad to hear that your group had some success...
  18. Dennis...that is why we bring a rope along...it is always easy to get down, but a real bugger to get back up...
  19. ...yes it was a fantastic day...here is a picture of John with his fish caught...and a picture of Karen with another fish on...
  20. ...Dennis, you have to learn how to fish with flyrod in one hand and camera in the other...either that or get a GoPro.
  21. ...can't wait to get back at it...
  22. ...looks and sounds like a very successful meeting with ESRD in Edsen...they too put in a lot of time and effort in the study...I am surprised at the lack of Grayling in the Pembina River...looks as though they are holding up in specific areas of the river... ...with the absence of graying in the pembina, could this be one of the leading causes of the fish not showing up in streams and creeks where they were previously?... ...hopefully this year more grayling are caught in the pembina...
  23. ...great work from all the volunteers from NAIT...hopefully they stay involved...
  24. ...awesome report...looking forward to another year of great fishing...hoping to land some of those tagged fish... ...thanks Ken and Jim for all your hard work in putting this report together...
  25. ...I was checking out some pictures back in the day and found this picture...is it possible that this is Ken being taught by Dave...picture was taken April 3rd, 2005 at the outdoor show at the Mayfield...
