  1. Not being able to attend the info session that was held in Edmonton, I am in the dark on alot of what the government is planning. I tried to finds minutes from the session, but no luck.
  2. Is there any chance of a public information session being put on in the Edson / Hinton area ? I would like to attend, but traveling to Edmonton is not possible for me .
  3. Sent a letter to the DFO on jan. 29/16 expressing my interest at being involved with the consultation for this. Never got an answer back. Do they normally ignore the people that have angled for the Athabasca rainbow for forty plus years ?
  4. Just found some information at: http://www.watershedsentinel.ca/content/facts-out-trial-urged-obed-mine-disaster-case .Adjourned to April 6, 2016 for plea.
  5. An update on Obed mine spill court appearance. Seems to be getting difficult to find easy info on this subject. I first tried a google search. Best dated information is Oct. 2015 stating charges laid and first court appearance on Jan. 20, 2016. Sent email to the AER, their response was : I took a look into our Compliance Dashboard, and the only indecent referring to Obed is in incidents and was from October 31, 2013. I don’t see any reference to January 20th in there, nor any additional documents under investigations or Compliance and Enforcement. Sent email to ESRD. The response : This file has been transferred to the Alberta Energy Regulator, I have forwarded them your email over to them fore response. Someone should be in contact with you shortly with more information. So now my request for information has circled back around to the AER with this reply : As I am unable to find your information in the compliance dashboard, as per the attached email. I believe your best bet to get this information would be through a FOIP Request. WOW ! I think I will try to contact a newspaper reporter. They get paid for this work and can expense account the costs. fthillsfisher
  6. I am looking for information regarding Obed mine's court proceedings. The last info I have is they were to appear in court on Jan. 20, 2016. For some reason I am not able to find out what happened. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
  7. Hey, thanks Peter. I have become frustrated with the interfernce that industry has caused on the areas fisheries. I think I am now on a rant. lol Perhaps I will email Jack and see if any of my information is of any use. Thank you
  8. Just learned a few days ago that no charges have yet to be laid in regards to the obed mine spill. Is TUC putting any presssure on the government to have charges laid, and put the streams back to their original state ?
  9. I found them. Thanks. But I question the change to catch and release only on Apetuwon/Plante creeks & the Athabasca river. Not sure why only catch & release on these streams and not on other local tributaries of the Athabasca river ? How safe are the fish ?
  10. I'm a new member of the Northern Lights Fly Tyers, being moved after the Yellowhead chapter became dissolved. I have been trying to learn of any regulation changes for the Athabasca river and tributaries due to the Obed mine spill. So far I have no idea what changes might be forth coming. Anyone with any information ?
  11. Are there any other members here that use to fish what was Plante creek ?( one of the streams destroyed by the Obed mine spill) I am also interested if there are any known aerial photos of the damage done to the streams from the spill. I have yet to visit the area, but plan in the spring to walk and view what is probably another fishery I will not be able to fish.
